Anthony is one of the most prolific and successful writers in the UK, working across many different media - YA fiction, detective novels, TV, films, plays and journalism. Best known for his Alex Rider adventures which have sold over 21 million copies worldwide, he works mainly in the spy, thriller and mystery genres. His Hawthorne stories, in which he appears as an unlikely sidekick, has sold well over a million copies and a sixth book in the series, "A Deadly Episode," was published in April 2026. His three bestselling crime novels, "Magpie Murders," "Moonflower Murders" and "Marble Hall Murders" have all been filmed for the BBC with Lesley Manville in the lead role.
