1. Purpose
This Cookie Policy explains how The Hive Network, LLC ("Famlo," "we," "our," or "us") uses cookies, local storage, and similar technologies to recognize you when you visit our website at famlo.co or use our platform (collectively, the "Platform"). It explains what these technologies are, why we use them, and your rights to control our use of them.
2. What Are Cookies and Similar Technologies?
Cookies are small data files placed on your device when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work, enhance functionality, improve user experience, and provide reporting information. Cookies may be "first-party cookies" (set by us) or "third-party cookies" (set by our service providers).
We also use similar technologies including:
- Local Storage: Data stored in your browser that persists until cleared. We use it for your light/dark theme choice and, if you allow analytics, for the analytics identifier described below.
- Session Storage: Data stored temporarily during your browser session.
- Pixels/Beacons: Small images that help us understand page views and user interactions.
3. Technologies We Use
3.1 Strictly Necessary Technologies
Required for the operation of the Platform. Without these, services you have requested cannot be provided.

- A time-zone cookie, so activity times display in your local time rather than ours

Google Analytics runs on our public pages only. It is never loaded on a signed-in page, and we run it with advertising personalization and Google Signals switched off.
3.4 Error Monitoring
When something breaks, we send a diagnostic report to Sentry so we can fix it. These reports contain the technical details of the error — the page, the browser, and the code path that failed — and are used only to diagnose faults.
Error reports are configured to exclude personal information. They do not include your email address, your IP address, or any health, medical, allergy, or emergency-contact information belonging to you or a child on your account.
Error monitoring is necessary to keep the Platform working safely, so it is not switched off by the Analytics preference.

3.5 Session Recording
We do not use session recording. Famlo does not record your screen, your mouse movements, your scrolling, or the contents of the pages you view. Because rosters, message threads and family profiles can display children’s names, birthdates and health information, we have chosen not to operate this category of technology at all rather than rely on masking it.
If this ever changes, we will update this policy and give you the choice before turning it on.
3.6 Server-Side Product Analytics
Separately from anything running in your browser, we record certain events on our own servers when they happen in your account — for example that a booking was paid, or that an organizer opened their management console. These records are sent to PostHog, our product analytics provider, which processes them on our behalf and under contract.
These records identify your account by an internal identifier. They never include a child’s name, age, birthdate, health, allergy or special-needs information, and never record which specific child attended which activity — this is enforced in our code, not only by policy.
Because these records are created by our servers rather than by your browser, they are not controlled by the Analytics toggle in the Privacy Preference Center, and they are not affected by cookie settings. They are not used for advertising, are never sold, and are not shared for cross-context behavioral advertising. We keep them because we need them to operate, bill for, secure and improve the Platform. To ask us to stop, or to have them deleted, email support@famlo.co.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We integrate with the following third-party services that may process your data:

5. How to Control These Technologies
5.1 Browser Settings
Most browsers allow you to:
- View what cookies are set
- Delete individual or all cookies
- Block third-party cookies
- Block all cookies from specific sites
Note: Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent you from using the Platform.
5.2 Global Privacy Control (GPC)
Our Platform detects and honors Global Privacy Control (GPC) signals sent by your browser or browser extensions. When a GPC signal is detected:
- Analytics tracking is automatically disabled
- Marketing tracking is automatically disabled
- The Privacy Preferences panel shows an acknowledgment confirming the signal was detected and honored
A GPC signal overrides any choice previously saved on this device, and the analytics and marketing controls become read-only for as long as your browser keeps sending it.
GPC is a legally recognized opt-out mechanism in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, Oregon, Montana, Delaware, Nebraska, New Hampshire, New Jersey, Minnesota and Maryland (list current as of July 2026). Learn more at globalprivacycontrol.org.
5.3 Do Not Track
Our Platform also respects Do Not Track (DNT) signals sent by your browser. When we detect a DNT signal, we disable our analytics technologies for your visit. Note that Do Not Track is not a legally recognized opt-out signal in the United States; Global Privacy Control is, and we recommend using it.
5.4 Privacy Preference Center
You can manage your tracking preferences at any time by clicking "Privacy Preferences" in the website footer. This allows you to control:
- Analytics: Cookies and browser storage used for web analytics — the pages you view on this device, measured by PostHog and, on our public pages, Google Analytics. This control governs technologies operating in your browser. It does not switch off the server-side service records described in Section 3.6.
- Marketing: Advertising measurement and personalization
Strictly necessary technologies cannot be switched off, because sign-in and security depend on them. Your choice is stored on your device, so it is set separately on each browser you use.
5.5 Opt-Out Options
- Privacy Preferences: Click "Privacy Preferences" in the website footer to manage your choices
- GPC Signal: Enable Global Privacy Control in your browser
- DNT Signal: Enable Do Not Track in your browser

6. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Cookie Policy periodically to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. When we make material changes, we will update the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy and may notify you via email or Platform notification for significant changes.
