Agatha Christie is one of the best selling mystery authors of all time and she is the only writer to have created two major detectives, Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She also wrote the longest-running play in the modern theater, "The Mousetrap". “Crime is terribly revealing. This presentation reveals some of the fascinating details of a famous author’s private life, from early childhood through two marriages and two world wars. The 1954 setting for this “conversation” is a book signing, and Agatha, who is shy, reluctantly talks with wit and good humor about her experiences both as a writer and her life on archaeological expeditions with her second husband, archeologist Max Mallowan. In passing she mentions the mysterious 11 days in 1926 when she “disappeared” and had all of England searching for her, but the secret reason for her flight is not revealed. The narrative does reveal the true genius of her legendary success.
