About This Event

Reference Archivist Rhys Burns from the Maryland State Archives will guide you through researching Maryland land records using the updated MDLandRec.net. Learn how to search modern deeds, trace a property backward through time, use historical indices, and understand different index types. Rhys will also share practical tips for navigating complex research questions, with a special focus on Carroll County—while offering guidance useful for broader family history work. Discover the value land records can bring to your research! This program is in partnership with the Carroll County Genealogical Society. This program is part of the Carroll 250 Speaker Series celebrating the United States Semiquincentennial, the 250th anniversary of the 1776 United States Declaration of Independence.
